Dog Breed Info:

All dog breeds are divided into 10 dog breed groups. These dog breed groups are based on different issues such as appearance or use. The 10 dog breed groups are:Free Dog Food Samples for all dog breeds

  2. Group:Pinscher and Schanuzer - Molossoid Breeds - Swiss Mountain and Cattle Dogs and Other Breeds

  5. Group:Spitz and Primitive types

  6. Group:Scenthounds and Related Breeds

  7. Group:Pointing Dogs

  8. Group:Retrievers - Flushing Dogs - Water Dogs

  9. Group:Companion and Toy Dogs

  10. Group:Sighthounds

Each dog breed group has different sections. In these sections the dog breeds are arranged in alphabetical order of their owner countries.

Dogs have been selectively bred for thousands of years, sometimes by inbreeding dogs from the same ancestral lines, sometimes by mixing dogs from very different lines. The process continues today, resulting in a tremendous variety of dog breeds.

The following list uses a wide interpretation of "breed". The dog breed info listed here may be traditional dog breeds with long histories as registered dog breeds, rare breeds with their own registries, or new breeds that may still be under development. Please see individual articles for more information.

Dog breeds can be divided into different categories, such as:

    • Hounds, including Sight hounds and Scent hounds

    • Gundogs, including Pointers, Retrievers, and Spaniels

  • Working (or Utility)

    • Herding, including Sheepdogs
